In late February 2011, I had the opportunity travel to China, specifically to the city of Harbin, Heilongjiang province. The purpose is to meet the task form my office to attend meeting related with rice. Because its territory in the north, so people like me from tropics, is less friendly with its temperature. Outside temperature in Harbin (- 17 degrees Celsius), it feel like frozen. Harbin City is quite interesting, because there are many attractions to visit. Unfortunately because of time constraints, I only got to visit some locations. First is the Harbin ice lantern garden party of China. In one area expressed buildings or monuments and statues made of ice. So we can see a variety of building forms of ice. But unfortunately because it’s so cold, especially when the wind blows, so could not linger long in the place. Another visit to Saint Sophia Church built in 1907, and is a representation of the Byzantine church building in China. Architectural building interesting enough. Last visit was to the Dragon Tower, the tallest TV towers in the world’s No. 2, and the highest No. 1 in Asia. Actually there are other interesting places such as Helongjiang Manchurian Tiger Garden, an area where we can get closer to the tiger who lives free.
